Escape Recruitment are partnering with an established manufacturing client to recruit a Group Buyer responsible for end-to-end purchasing across materials, CAPEX, and indirect spend. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role supporting operational and project requirements while driving supplier performance and cost efficiency. You will work closely with engineering, operations and internal stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact for procurement across the site. The business offers a supportive team environment, ongoing training and CIPS development support, alongside a strong commitment to sustainability and long-term employee development. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end purchasing activity across site requirements
  • Prepare RFQs, tenders, and cost comparisons
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships and performance
  • Expedite deliveries to meet operational deadlines
  • Drive cost reduction and sourcing improvements
  • Support lean supply chain initiatives
  • Resolve supplier and invoice queries
  • Mentor junior team members

Knowledge and experience required for the role:

  • Proven procurement experience ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong supplier management and negotiation skills
  • Experience with tender processes and contract administration
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • ERP system experience
  • CIPS qualified or studying towards (desirable)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Team player with a proactive, positive approach
