Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Commodity Buyer to join a centralised Procurement team supporting UK manufacturing sites for a 12 Month FTC. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercial-minded procurement professional looking to make a tangible impact and progress their career. This role is based at the UK Head Office.
The Role:
- Take ownership of a defined group of commodities, developing and executing strategies that deliver cost savings and value improvements.
- Drive supplier performance, ensuring contracts, pricing and commercial agreements achieve the best outcomes.
- Negotiate effectively to secure competitive pricing, manage PPV and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
- Monitor market trends and supplier performance, managing risk and identifying new sourcing opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align commodity strategies with business objectives.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers to drive continuous improvement and long-term partnerships.
Experience and knowledge required for the role:
- Proven procurement experience with a track record of driving cost savings and managing supplier relationships.
- Strong negotiation and commercial skills, with a keen eye for PPV and contract optimisation.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience developing commodity strategies and implementing risk management plans is highly desirable.
