We are seeking a Maintenance Plant Fitter to join a busy industrial operation in the Frome area. Working as part of a skilled engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and improving a wide range of heavy production equipment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving and working on large-scale mechanical plant in a safety-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to mechanical breakdowns and restore equipment safely and efficiently
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities
- Support preventative maintenance programmes and shutdowns
- Conduct welding and fabrication work as required
- Diagnose faults and identify root causes of equipment failures
- Complete maintenance records using a CMMS system
- Assist with continuous improvement projects
- Coordinate contractors and ensure safe working practices are maintained
- Mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification
- Experience within heavy industry, manufacturing, processing, production, utilities or plant environments
- Strong fault-finding and breakdown repair experience
