An established international manufacturing business is looking to appoint an experienced Export & Customer Service professional to lead a small team and manage complex global export operations. This is a hands-on role where technical export knowledge is absolutely critical. You'll oversee worldwide shipments, customs compliance, export documentation, logistics coordination and customer service operations while supporting continuous improvement across the department.
The business exports globally and requires someone confident dealing with international shipping regulations, VAT compliance, Incoterms and freight movements across air, road and sea. You'll also supervise a small team, support operational improvements and work closely with finance, manufacturing and sales functions to ensure orders move efficiently from receipt through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support a small Customer Service & Export team
- Manage international customer orders and export processes
- Ensure compliance with global export regulations, customs and VAT requirements
- Coordinate shipments via air, road and sea freight
- Manage export documentation and shipping paperwork
- Liaise with freight providers, customs agents and internal departments
- Monitor pricing, margins and shipping costs
- Support audits and compliance activities
- Drive continuous improvement and process efficiencies
- Work closely with ERP/MRP systems and support system improvements
- Strong experience within export coordination and international logistics
- Knowledge of customs compliance, export documentation and VAT processes
- Experience managing shipments globally
- ERP/MRP systems experience (M3 highly advantageous)
- Manufacturing background preferred
