Due to continued growth, Escape's established engineering client is looking to appoint an experienced Buyer to join their busy purchasing team. This is a hands-on role responsible for sourcing materials and services, negotiating with suppliers, placing purchase orders and ensuring on-time delivery to support operational and build requirements.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
- Obtain quotations and negotiate pricing, terms and delivery schedules
- Place and manage purchase orders through to delivery
- Ensure materials and services are sourced cost-effectively and on time
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply issues
- Work closely with internal teams to understand purchasing requirements
- Support sourcing and tender activities where required
- Maintain accurate data within the ERP system
Experience and knowledge required for the role:
- Proven experience in a Buyer / Purchasing role within an engineering, automotive or maritime industry
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing priorities
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
- Experience using ERP or procurement systems
- Supportive team player
