Overview
We are looking for a UX Design Director to help shape the player experience for an upcoming AAA, cross‑platform competitive title, with an initial focus on Live Service and Meta Systems. This role requires a blend of high‑level vision and hands‑on design leadership, driving both the “what” and the “how” of the game’s user experience. While a core focus will be on Live Service and Meta Systems, this role may contribute more broadly to the game’s UX direction as needs evolve. You will partner closely with Product, Production, Design, and cross‑disciplinary teams to define and execute on an ambitious, evolving player experience. You will contribute directly to UX vision, frameworks, user flows, and feature development, while guiding teams to deliver high‑quality, intuitive, and engaging experiences for players. You will also help build and lead a group of UX Designers, shaping both the team and its areas of ownership over time to meet the needs of the product.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the UX vision for key areas of the game, with an emphasis on Live Service and Meta Systems
- Contribute hands‑on to UX design, including user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and documentation
- Develop scalable UX frameworks that support Live Service features, events, and ongoing content
- Partner closely with Product and Design to align UX with feature goals, player needs, and business outcomes
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Art, and other disciplines to deliver high‑quality player experiences
- Ensure strong cohesion across systems, navigation, information architecture, and interaction design
- Establish UX principles, standards, and best practices for development and iteration
- Support the growth and execution of a UX design team across relevant areas
- Drive continuous improvement based on player data, usability feedback, and live performance
Qualifications
- Significant experience in UX design for games, with a strong focus on systems, live service, or player‑facing experiences
- Proven ability to define and deliver UX vision, from concept through live operations
- Hands‑on expertise in UX design, with the ability to create flows, wireframes, and prototypes
- Strong collaboration skills, with experience working cross‑functionally across Product, Design, Engineering, and Production
- Experience designing for complex systems such as progression, storefronts, social features, or live content
- Strong understanding of player behavior, usability principles, and engagement patterns
- Experience leading or mentoring UX designers, with a track record of improving team output and quality
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency with UX design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe suite, or similar)
- Passion for building high‑quality player experiences
