We are looking for a talented Senior UI Artist to join our team who has experience implementing AAA quality UI Art in Unreal Engine 5 or other comparable game engines. You will possess a deep understanding of user interface design within the gaming industry and have a passion for creating visually stunning and intuitive UI experiences.
What we will do together:
- Drive the vision for UI Art on Escape Velocity's projects by embracing the art style and direction defined by the Art Directors and using the art style guide as the backdrop to create UI that is both in alignment with UX's wireframes and is thematically perfect to the art style.
- Collaborate with UX, the Art Directors, and the Game Director to pitch your vision, before doing some of your own strong implementation against that plan.
- Effectively plan and communicate work, ensuring realistic goals and dependencies.
- Deliver high-quality UI assets throughout the development process, from early prototypes to final implementation in the game engine.
What you will bring:
- Be accountable for the quality and consistency of UI Art produced on the team.
- Work collaboratively with UX Design, Tech Design and Engineers to create AAA quality UI experiences; actively participate in the creation and implementation of design systems, game menus, HUD elements, Iconography, UI materials and shaders, UI animation and motion design.
- Work quickly and effectively in a fast-paced environment; be flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity; contribute to shipping product team features on time and to quality.
- Flag new and emerging design patterns or systems to the Art Directors.
- Collaborate with the greater UXUI Department to ensure consistency and quality is maintained.
