We are looking for a Design Director to help shape the long‑term player experience for an upcoming AAA, cross‑platform competitive title, with a focus on Live Service and Meta systems. This role requires a blend of high‑level vision and hands‑on design craft, driving both the “what” and the “how” of the game’s overall player experience. While a core focus will be on Live Service and Meta, this role may contribute more broadly to the game’s design direction as needs evolve.

You will partner closely with Product, Production, Creative, and cross‑disciplinary teams to define and execute on an ambitious, evolving player experience. You will contribute directly to feature vision, design documentation, event frameworks, and seasonal content themes, while guiding teams to deliver high‑quality experiences for players. You will also help to assemble and lead a group of designers in these efforts, and evolve the efforts of this team over time to meet the needs of the product.

What We Will Do Together

  • Shape the design vision for key areas of the game, with a focus on Live Service systems and the broader player experience around retention, monetization, and seasonal content.
  • Contribute hands‑on to feature designs, design documentation, and player‑facing systems.
  • Develop scalable frameworks for content, events, and systems that support long‑term engagement.
  • Partner closely with Product to align on features, goals, content and operations.
  • Collaborate with Creative, Product and Franchise leads to shape the vision for seasons and their content.
  • Work across Production, Engineering, Art, UX and other disciplines to deliver high‑quality features and content.
  • Help establish processes and best practices for design development, iteration and live operations.
  • Support the growth and execution of a design team across systems, content and other gameplay areas.
  • Drive continuous iteration based on player data, feedback and live performance.

What You Will Bring

  • Significant experience in game design, including work on live service systems, features or player progression.
  • Experience working on live service games or evolving player‑facing systems.
  • Proven ability to define and deliver feature visions, from concept through live operations.
  • Hands‑on design expertise, with a willingness to contribute to design documentation and executional details.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working cross‑functionally across Product, Engineering, Art and Production.
  • Experience designing and supporting content, events or ongoing player experiences.
  • Strong understanding of player motivation, engagement loops and retention principles.
  • Experience leading or mentoring designers, with a track record of improving team output and quality.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Passion for building high‑quality player experiences.
