Here at Escape Velocity, we are looking for a Debug Engineer who will be responsible for identifying and resolving technical issues. This role involves performing in-depth analysis and debugging to ensure the product meets high quality/world class standards. The candidate will collaborate with engineering and support teams to enhance system performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Create internal tools that assist in problem solving, improve developer ease to maintain, and identify issues
- Diagnose and troubleshoot game features and stability
- Perform in-depth debugging and analysis of system failures
- Collaborate with engineering and support teams to resolve technical problems
- Develop, modify, and debug gameplay software in script and C/C++
- Assist in the development and implementation of system improvement strategies
- Conduct root cause analysis and provide recommendations for corrective actions
- Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify issues in a timely manner
Qualifications / What you will bring
- An appetite to cover a wide spectrum of game systems and become a core knowledgebase to support the development team.
- Ability to decipher 3D math, concepts and apply it to primitive rendering concepts for visualizations
- Proven experience in debugging and troubleshooting software systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and methodologies
- Experience with Unreal Engine
