What we are looking for:
Escape Velocity is looking for an Associate Technical Artist who will be working together with the Mobile Tech Art team on tasks like making tools, optimizing content, measuring performance and help maintain our build stability.

What we will do together:

  • Work with art and engineering to understand art requirements and technical limitations
  • Work with other Technical Artists on tools and pipelines aimed at content optimization and pipeline efficiency improvements
  • Work with Art and help them with content optimizations
  • Acquire a deep understanding of engine tools and technology and be able to utilize the knowledge in your future work
  • Maintain and improve existing tools and pipelines
  • Analyze game performance using profiling tools, identify offenders, and propose solutions while considering visual targets

What you will bring:
Our ideal candidate has both artistic and technical background that covers many disciplines. We need someone who is familiar or at least very comfortable working inside UE, leaning more on the side of technical content creation. Our Associate Technical Artist is a person who wants to learn new things and bring new ideas to an experienced team.

  • Familiarity or experience working in Unreal Engine (5 preferable)
  • Knowledge of core Unreal Engine features, such as Blueprints, PCG, Editor tools, materials graph, Niagara etc.
  • Knowledge or experience with profiling, performance and optimization (Renderdoc, Razor Profiler or Unreal Insights)
  • Collaboratively developing tools and workflows for artists
  • Knowledge of one of the major 3D Modelling packages (3DS Max, Maya)
  • Experience with a scripting language, preferably Python
  • Experience with Substance Painter, Substance Designer, and Photoshop
  • Strong ability to learn new areas of development
  • Ability to work well within a team atmosphere
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Creative problem-solving skills
