Escape Recruitment is supporting our client in Dundee to recruit a Senior Design Project Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to play a key role in the design and delivery of high-performance mechanical products used in demanding applications.
The Role
As a Senior Design Project Engineer, you’ll take ownership of design activities from concept through to manufacture, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to specification. You’ll collaborate closely with internal departments, suppliers, and customers to develop innovative engineering solutions and support ongoing product improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to design and development projects from initial concept through to production release.
- Produce detailed 3D models, drawings, calculations, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure technical requirements and schedules are met.
- Participate in design reviews and problem-solving activities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant standards, procedures, and quality systems.
- Support product testing, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
- Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience within a design engineering or project engineering role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong 3D CAD skills (experience with Inventor or similar software preferred).
- Good understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience working to ISO quality standards.
- Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
