We are working with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business to recruit a Head of Health, Safety & Security. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, responsible for leading the Health & Safety function across a complex, high-risk environment including yard operations, vessels and associated facilities.
You will take ownership of H&S strategy, compliance and day-to-day delivery, ensuring standards are not only met but consistently improved across the business.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop the company's Health & Safety strategy
- Ensure full compliance with UK legislation and industry standards
- Oversee audits, inspections, risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Manage permit to work systems and emergency response planning
- Lead incident investigations and drive corrective actions
- Work closely with senior leadership to embed a strong safety culture
- Deliver training, communication and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain and develop ISO standards (ISO9001 / ISO45001)
- Proven experience in a senior H&S leadership role
- Background in a high-risk environment such as engineering, shipbuilding, construction or heavy manufacturing
- Strong working knowledge of UK H&S legislation and compliance
- Experience managing H&S systems, audits and investigations
- Confident engaging at all levels, from shop floor to boardroom
- NEBOSH General Certificate essential, Diploma preferred
