Escape is recruiting a Project Controls Manager for a key leadership role within a growing Scottish manufacturing and engineering business with an exciting pipeline of future opportunities. You will lead the Project Controls function, helping to establish best practice across cost control, forecasting, performance management, risk management and project governance. The Role

Working closely with Programme Managers, Planning, Engineering and Operational teams, you will develop and embed a robust project controls framework that provides accurate performance measurement, clear reporting and early visibility of risks and opportunities. You will lead a small team and play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered against agreed scope, schedule and cost objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining project controls governance, processes and reporting standards.
  • Managing project baselines and performance measurement activities.
  • Driving Earned Value Management (EVM) and performance reporting.
  • Leading cost control and Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasting.
  • Managing project change control processes.
  • Supporting risk management and quantitative schedule/cost risk analysis activities.
  • Developing Control Account Management (CAM) frameworks and performance reviews.
  • Driving lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting long-term resource planning and programme capability development.
  • Leading and developing Project Controls team members.

Experience and knowledge for the role:

You will have a strong background in Project Controls gained within complex engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure, defence, marine, aerospace, energy or similar project-driven environments. Proven experience leading Project Controls activities across major programmes or projects. Strong knowledge of cost control, forecasting and project governance. Experience developing and delivering EAC forecasts. Practical experience of Earned Value Management (EVM). Strong analytical and reporting skills. Experience managing project performance, risk and change. The ability to challenge constructively and influence stakeholders at all levels. Experience leading teams and driving continuous improvement.
