Escape Recruitment is working with a leading manufacturing business in Motherwell to appoint a Machine Shop Inspector to join their Quality team.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Inspecting machine shop components and materials.
  • Calibrating precision measuring equipment in line with QMS and ISO requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate calibration and inspection records.
  • Managing inspection materials stock and raising purchase orders.
  • Using specialist inspection equipment.
  • Investigating quality issues and liaising with Quality Engineers and the Engineering department.
  • Making clear decisions on accept/reject criteria and raising SAP documentation.
  • Supporting other inspection areas when needed.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Time-served background in mechanical engineering.
  • Recognised qualification such as City & Guilds or Mechanical Engineering Technician.
  • Strong understanding of machine shop products and inspection techniques.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use tools like micrometers and verniers.
  • Experience with SAP and PC systems would be an advantage.
  • Flexible, self-motivated and confident in making decisions.
