Escape Recruitment is working exclusively with a well-established manufacturing business to recruit a Health, Safety & Compliance Manager for their site in Ayrshire. This is a standalone role offering the opportunity to take ownership of health, safety, environmental and compliance activities across a busy manufacturing operation. The position would suit either an experienced Health & Safety Manager or a Senior Health & Safety Advisor looking to take the next step into a management role. Reporting directly into senior site leadership, you will play a key role in maintaining compliance, supporting audits, driving continuous improvement and promoting a positive safety culture throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop health and safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct and review risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Manage COSHH assessments and safety documentation
  • Oversee permit to work systems and contractor compliance
  • Coordinate internal and external audits
  • Monitor environmental compliance activities
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and support compliance reporting
  • Produce monthly EHS reports for senior leadership
  • Support sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards

What We're Looking For

  • NEBOSH Certificate or higher qualification
  • Previous Health & Safety experience within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, production, recycling or processing environments
  • Experience conducting audits and managing compliance activities
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
  • Familiarity with COSHH, DSEAR, risk assessments and incident investigations
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong administrative and reporting capabilities
  • Ability to work autonomously and influence at all levels
