Escape Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with an established and growing Scottish business to recruit a Buyer / Stock Controller. This is a varied, hands-on role covering purchasing, stock control and working with suppliers, within a small and friendly team. The business is introducing a new Sales & Operations system, and you will be involved in the implementation and become a key user. Good IT skills and the ability to pick up new systems are therefore important.

The role:

  • Placing purchase orders with Suppliers and expediting deliveries.
  • Manage stock levels to ensure good product availability.
  • Analyse sales and stock levels and place supplier orders.
  • Monitor supplier lead times and chase deliveries where required.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal colleagues.
  • Keep product information and pricing up to date.
  • Communicate stock availability and delivery updates to customers and colleagues.
  • Look for ways to improve stock processes and make things work more efficiently.
  • Hands on – It is a small, close-knit business and everyone supports each other.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in stock control, purchasing, buying or inventory management.
  • Good Excel and general IT skills.
  • Comfortable working with data and learning new systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Confident communicator who enjoys dealing with suppliers and colleagues.
  • Commercially aware with a practical, hands-on approach.
  • Someone who enjoys improving processes and finding better ways of doing things.
  • Happy working as part of a small team where everyone mucks in.
