Field Based Service Engineer required to carry out planned and reactive maintenance across industrial plant and equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations while minimising downtime in quarry environments. Dundee based. This position comes with a van and is based on day-shift Monday - Friday; however, overtime hours will be expected (OTE of £65k - £70k).

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventative and reactive maintenance on plant and machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and operational standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage contractors safely while on site.
  • Maintain maintenance records and support spare parts control.
  • Assist with training junior team members where required.

Essential Requirements

  • Mechanical engineering qualification or relevant industry experience.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working within industrial, manufacturing, or heavy plant environments.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Flexible, reliable, and safety-focused approach.

Desirable

  • HNC/HND/Degree in Engineering (Mechanical).
  • Welding or fabrication experience.
  • Manufacturing experience would be advantageous or Ex Forces.

Working Environment

Workshop, plant, and outdoor operational environments with additional hours required to support operational needs.
