Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality (HSEQ) Lead in Dunfermline | Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits | Hybrid (2 days home)

Escape Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a successful international engineering and manufacturing business in the appointment of an experienced Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality (HSEQ) Lead. This isn't a typical HSEQ role. If you're looking for a position where you can genuinely influence business strategy, shape culture and work across manufacturing, engineering projects and nationwide installation activities, this could be exactly what you're looking for.

Reporting directly to the UK Managing Director and sitting on the Senior Management Team, you'll lead Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality across every aspect of the UK business. One day you could be supporting the manufacture of complex engineered systems supplied to customers across the UK and internationally. The next, you'll be advising on CDM projects, supporting field service engineers working on customer sites, reviewing ISO management systems, leading audits or helping drive continuous improvement across multiple departments.

This is the organisation's most senior UK HSEQ position, giving you the opportunity to influence decisions at senior leadership level rather than simply implementing them. You'll enjoy genuine autonomy while benefiting from the support and resources of a successful international group.

Why you'll enjoy this role:

  • Senior Management Team position reporting directly to the UK Managing Director
  • Lead HSEQ strategy across the entire UK business
  • Broad responsibility covering manufacturing, engineering projects and field service operations
  • Opportunity to shape culture, systems and continuous improvement
  • Ownership of Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality functions
  • Varied role where no two days are the same
  • Work for a successful international business with a collaborative UK leadership team
  • Competitive salary and excellent benefits package

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert HSEQ leadership and advice to the Senior Management Team
  • Develop and promote a positive health, safety and quality culture across the business
  • Lead and maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
  • Plan and conduct internal audits, inspections and compliance reviews
  • Lead accident, incident and non-conformance investigations
  • Develop, review and implement risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Manage contractor compliance and support CDM projects
  • Coordinate HSEQ training and competency programmes
  • Monitor legislative changes and ensure ongoing compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality
  • Support engineering and installation projects with site-specific RAMS and compliance documentation

What we're looking for:

We're interested in speaking with experienced HSEQ professionals who enjoy working closely with operational teams and senior leaders to make a genuine difference. You'll ideally have:

  • NEBOSH qualified
  • IOSH membership
  • Strong experience managing ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
  • Internal and external auditing experience
  • Manufacturing, engineering or industrial sector experience
  • Strong understanding of contractor management and CDM principles
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and culture development

Why consider this opportunity?

This role offers considerably more than compliance management. It's an opportunity to become a trusted adviser to the UK Managing Director, influence business-wide decision making, and play a key role in the future development of a successful engineering business. If you're looking for a role where your experience will genuinely shape how an organisation operates—not simply maintain existing standards - we'd be delighted to speak with you.
