Mechanical Maintenance Fitter - Field Based
£45,500 basic salary + overtime
Are you a hands‑on Mechanical Maintenance Fitter who enjoys solving mechanical problems and keeping equipment running?
We're recruiting for an experienced fitter to carry out planned and reactive maintenance across industrial plant and heavy mechanical equipment.

What you'll be doing
- Mechanical fault‑finding and reactive repairs
- Maintaining pumps, gearboxes and rotating equipment
- Working on hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Welding and fabrication repairs
- Interpreting engineering drawings and schematics
- Helping improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime
What we’re looking for
You’ll have practical mechanical maintenance or heavy equipment experience, a good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and the ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs safely.
Experience with pumps, gearboxes, rotating machinery and fabrication would be particularly useful.
A mechanically biased multi-skilled engineer could also be a good fit.
