Our client is looking to appoint a Supply Chain and Planning Lead who will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager and Head of Operations. The Supply Chain and Planning Lead will be responsible for purchasing, planning & scheduling and inventory management. They will lead and mentor a small team and support them with achieving day-to-day tasks within the Warehouse & Logistics.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Create and maintain production schedules to meet customer demands whilst maximising efficiencies & resource and reducing downtime
- Demand forecasting & inventory planning
- Purchasing of raw materials and packaging in line with planning requirement
- Manage Supplier relationships, ensuring competitive pricing, quality and on-time delivery
- Manage optimum inventory levels
- Manage warehouse operations, including dispatch and customer documentation
- Continually analyse and improve supply chain KPIs (OTIF, forecast accuracy, inventory holdings)
- Utilise the ERP system within the Supply Chain Team
- Drive continuous improvement
Knowledge and experience required for the role:
- Experience of working in a similar Planning, Supply Chain, Procurement role within GMP manufacturing
- Strong Supplier management and negotiation skills
- Strong communicator who can build strong working relationships with colleagues and Suppliers
- Previous experience of using ERP/MRP planning systems and Excel
- Understanding of GMP regulations, quality management standards and operating procedures (ISO/BRC)
- Commercially aware with strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Flexibility to be hands-on and support the business needs
- Ambitious, self-starter, proactive and takes ownership
