Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional who enjoys being out on site, influencing people and driving real cultural change rather than sitting behind a desk? We're recruiting for an Operational Health & Safety Lead to join a well-established engineering organisation with projects across Scotland and the UK. This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll work alongside operational teams to improve safety performance across workshops, manufacturing operations and customer sites.
You'll be responsible for embedding a positive safety culture, coaching managers and supervisors, improving behavioural safety and ensuring safe systems of work are implemented effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Health & Safety leadership across workshop and site operations
- Promote behavioural safety and interaction
- Support Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
- Carry out site inspections, audits and workplace safety reviews
- Lead accident, incident and near miss investigations
- Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and safety training
- Contractor management and permit to work activities
- Build strong working relationships with operational teams and customers
We're looking for someone with:
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Previous experience in a senior operational Health & Safety role
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
- Experience within engineering, manufacturing, construction, industrial or heavy operational environments
- Full UK Driving Licence
