Are you an organised and proactive supply chain professional looking to develop your career within a fast-paced manufacturing environment? EScape are seeking a Materials Planner/Buyer to join a busy and collaborative supply chain team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with planning, purchasing or supply chain experience who enjoys working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure materials are available to support customer and production requirements.
Working within the Supply Chain team, you will be responsible for planning and expediting materials in line with business requirements, ensuring stock levels are effectively managed while maintaining excellent supplier performance.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing material requirements through the MRP system and ensuring data accuracy
- Planning and scheduling deliveries to meet forecast and production demands
- Monitoring and maintaining inventory levels while minimising material shortages
- Building strong relationships with suppliers and managing day-to-day communication
- Expediting orders and resolving supply issues to minimise disruption
- Supporting new product introductions and material phase-outs
- Monitoring supplier performance and service levels
- Working closely with Production, Planning, Commercial and Marketing teams
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and supply chain processes
- Assisting with purchasing activities and supplier negotiations
About You
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, commercially aware and able to manage multiple priorities within a fast-moving environment.
- Experience within a manufacturing, FMCG or supply chain environment
- Previous experience in materials planning, purchasing, inventory control or a similar role
- A good understanding of MRP/ERP systems
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
- Good planning and organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
- A proactive approach and willingness to identify opportunities for improvement
