Escape Recruitment are working with a blue-chip manufacturing company to recruit a Health and Safety manager on a fixed term contract for 6 months with the real chance of this turning into a permanent role. We are looking for the right candidate who will promote a culture of change within the Health & Safety onsite and is looking to progress their career. Based in their site just north of Falkirk, the role will carry H&S responsibility for the site as a whole.

Responsibilities / Duties

  • Develop Health & Safety programmes and prevent accident & injury.
  • Promote a strong Health & Safety culture onsite.
  • Compliance inspections, review PPE effectiveness and follow up.
  • Manage control procedures for specific regulations such as COSHH, manual handling, working at height, confined spaces, LOLER and Fire ensuring risk assessments are regularly reviewed and procedures, controls and equipment are put in place and maintained.
  • Coordinate employee EHS training programmes.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have:

  • NEBOSH Gen certificate.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment (preferably FMCG).
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership and IT skills.
  • Experience of Auditing or managing ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
