We are seeking a proactive Maintenance Engineer to support the smooth running of our clients' production operations by maintaining machinery, facilities, and site infrastructure. The role focuses on minimising downtime, improving efficiency, and ensuring high standards of safety and reliability.

Shifts

  • Days: Mon-Thurs 6:00-14:30 | Fri 6:00-14:00
  • Backshift: Mon-Thurs 14:00-22:00 | Fri 14:00-21:30 (one week in three)

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and identify potential issues early
  • Respond to breakdowns, diagnosing faults and completing repairs promptly
  • Perform routine inspections to ensure safe and efficient equipment operation
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and food safety standards
  • Keep accurate records (inspections, downtime, job cards)
  • Manage critical spare parts availability
  • Support installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Assist with facility and building maintenance
  • Work with the engineering team on continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support production line changeovers with minimal disruption
  • Ensure contractors follow site procedures and standards
  • Promote a strong safety-first culture

Requirements

  • HND or Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience in FMCG and food manufacturing environments
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and methodical approach
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership
  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
