Escape Recruitment is working with a major manufacturing business to recruit a Reliability & Asset Engineer to join their site engineering team. This is not a hands-on maintenance role. It is a data-driven, engineering-led position focused on improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and driving OEE performance across production assets.

The Role

  • You will take ownership of reliability performance within a defined production area, working closely with Maintenance and Production to eliminate repeat failures and improve asset performance.

Key areas include:

  • Leading root cause analysis (RCA) on equipment failures
  • Using data (downtime, condition monitoring, trends) to identify improvement opportunities
  • Applying Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) principles
  • Conducting FMEA and failure analysis
  • Driving improvements in MTBF, MTTR, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
  • Supporting condition monitoring strategies (vibration, thermography, etc.)
  • Optimising preventative and predictive maintenance strategies
  • Working cross-functionally to remove bottlenecks and improve throughput

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Experience in a manufacturing/process environment
  • Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles
  • Experience analysing data to drive engineering decisions
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation

Desirable:

  • Experience with RCA, FMEA, RCM or condition monitoring
  • Experience with CMMS systems (e.g. Maximo)
  • Background in heavy industry, FMCG, or continuous process environments
