Qualifications they need to have:
- Minimum Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (desirable)
- Team Teach or other behaviour management training (desirable)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Experience they must have:
- Experience working within a primary school setting
- Experience supporting children with SEND, including ASD/ASC, SEMH, ADHD or speech and language needs
- Experience working with pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2
- Strong behaviour management and ability to support emotional regulation
Role expectations:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons
- Implement EHCP targets and support individual learning plans
- Support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs
- Assist with phonics, numeracy and early learning interventions
- Build positive relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
- Support with personal care where required
