We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Stress Engineer to join a forward-thinking engineering department, playing a pivotal role in the development, testing, and optimisation of mechanical components and systems. The business has had massive investment in the last few years, winning several government defence contracts and putting that money into growth of both the site and the number of people. This role would suit an experienced mechanical engineer with a strong background in stress analysis, product development, and collaborative project delivery. Ideal for individuals who enjoy both hands-on design work and strategic process improvement, it offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to engineering innovation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical systems and components, including valves.
  • Create and evaluate prototypes to validate designs and support manufacturing readiness.
  • Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to ensure timely and effective project execution.
  • Manage and support continuous engineering improvements focused on manufacturability, flow optimisation, and standardisation.
  • Provide technical support to clients and respond to enquiries with clear, solution-oriented communication.

In return you’ll receive a salary of up to £64,000, 25 days holiday and a pension contribution of 7%.
