An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) professional to join a growing special purpose equipment manufacturer operating within a highly regulated engineering environment. This role would suit a proactive SHE practitioner with experience in manufacturing, engineering, nuclear, defence, construction or similar sectors, who enjoys working closely with operational and project teams to ensure compliance, manage risk, drive continuous improvement and promote a positive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide SHE advice and guidance across the business, ensuring compliance with legislation, company procedures and ISO management systems.
  • Support risk assessments, hazard identification and risk reduction activities across engineering, manufacturing and project environments.
  • Lead or assist with incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
  • Conduct SHE inspections, audits and contractor oversight activities, ensuring standards are consistently maintained.
  • Deliver training, toolbox talks and SHE communications while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and performance reporting.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Health, Safety & Environmental role within Manufacturing, Engineering or Energy sectors.
  • NEBOSH & IOSH certified.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 & ISO 14001.
  • Ability to communicate across multi-disciplinary departments and stakeholders.

Location: Chorley

Permanent

Salary: £50k - £55k

Working Hours: 4 day working week! Monday – Thursday, Full Time.

Benefits: 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, 5% pension from employer, MediCash Health.
