Are you ready to step into a pivotal leadership role at the heart of some of the world's biggest live events? Do you thrive on pressure, precision, and pulling teams together to deliver spectacular results? ES Global are global leaders in bespoke staging, temporary structures and event overlay across music, sport, culture and major public events. From international stadium builds to world‑tour stage structures, we deliver on a scale few others can match.

We're now looking for a Staging Crew Boss (Number 2) — a confident, respected site leader who can support our Staging Construction Managers and guide crews through demanding, high‑energy builds. If you love the buzz of live events, know how to bring a team together, and can keep your cool in the middle of the action… this could be your next step.

THE ROLE

As Crew Boss (Number 2), you'll be the Staging Construction Manager's right hand on site — trusted to lead crews, communicate with production teams, and keep operations running smoothly from load‑in to load‑out. You'll support the build of world‑class staging systems, coordinate team activities, interpret technical drawings, solve problems on the fly, and uphold the highest safety and quality standards. This is a hands‑on leadership role ideal for someone who's hungry to take on more responsibility and progress within staging construction management.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Support the Staging Construction Manager in all aspects of on‑site operations
  • Lead, motivate, and coordinate both ES Global and local crew
  • Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and maintain an efficient workflow
  • Act as a key communication link between crew and wider production teams
  • Interpret technical drawings and staging designs
  • Help keep builds on schedule through strong organisation and problem‑solving
  • Assist in incident reporting and safety investigations
  • Ensure the safe installation and removal of all temporary structures
  • Maintain crew wellbeing and uphold ES Global's welfare and conduct expectations

HEALTH & SAFETY — ALWAYS FIRST

You will:

  • Champion safe working practices at every stage
  • Monitor compliance and address risks immediately
  • Lead by example with correct PPE
  • Ensure your team know emergency procedures and site hazards
  • Stay alert to crew wellbeing — physical and mental
  • Support incident investigations with the Staging Construction Manager and Site Coordinators

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Strong experience in stage construction, live events or construction environments
  • Leadership experience — you know how to get the best from a team
  • Ability to read & interpret technical plans and schedules
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • A calm, confident approach in fast‑paced situations
  • Solid organisational abilities with strong attention to detail
  • A proactive, team‑centred mindset

Required tickets:

  • IOSH Working Safely

Strongly preferred:

  • SSSTS (CITB)
  • Emergency First Aid at Work (1 day)

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

This role is fully site‑based and involves:

  • Working across UK and global project locations
  • Indoor and outdoor builds
  • Fast‑moving, physically demanding environments
  • Travel as required
  • No two days are the same — and that's exactly why our team love what they do.

OUR EXPECTATIONS

We expect all team members to:

  • Lead with professionalism, integrity and respect
  • Follow all ES Global policies and site rules
  • Maintain high standards of safety, conduct and punctuality
  • Stay calm under pressure
  • Work inclusively alongside diverse crews and cultures
  • Report hazards immediately
  • Uphold confidentiality and client NDAs

We operate zero tolerance for drugs, alcohol, unsafe behaviour or misuse of equipment.
