We’re now looking for an experienced, hands‑on Staging Construction Manager to lead our on‑site staging construction and bring our ambitious builds to life. What You’ll Be Doing
As our Staging Construction Manager, you will take charge of on‑site construction operations, ensuring every project is delivered safely, efficiently, on‑time and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead staging crews across a variety of stadiums and venues—indoor, outdoor, domestic, and international
- Ensure Health & Safety and sustainability protocols are rigorously followed
- Work closely with Project Managers, Design teams, Crew Boss, Site Coordinators and Yard Operations for seamless delivery
- Assess and adjust crew numbers in line with build and dismantle planning and progress
- Interpret stage designs, technical drawings, and construction plans
- Develop and maintain construction timelines to meet strict deadlines
- Collaborate with client teams, riggers, production crews, subcontractors, and local venue partners
- Allocate labour, materials, and equipment effectively
- Oversee rigging, decking, and other temporary structural elements
- Carry out pre‑ and post‑event inspections for quality and keep accurate site documentation
Health & Safety Leadership
- Work with our H&S team to produce RAMS and essential reports (daily briefings, structural sign‑offs, permits to lift, fall protection verification)
- Support incident investigations and liaise with venue/client H&S representatives
- Ensure RAMS are read, understood, and signed by all crew
- Deliver daily safety briefings and site activity updates
- Enforce PPE compliance and safe working practices at all times
- Lead with vigilance—identifying risks, monitoring crew wellbeing, and maintaining a safe work environment
What You Will Bring
Experience & Skills
- Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety principles
- Extensive experience in staging, construction, or live events
- Proven ability to interpret and work from technical drawings
- Excellent leadership and crew management capabilities
- Clear, confident communication and people skills
- Experience delivering large‑scale venue or stadium builds
- Ability to make fast, sound decisions under pressure
- Solid organisational and resource management skills
- Willingness to travel frequently across the UK and internationally
- Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and basic IT systems
Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of rigging, truss, and temporary structures
- Knowledge of building codes, structural engineering, and safety regulations
Qualifications Required
- IOSH Managing Safely
Strongly Preferred
- SMSTS (CITB)
- Emergency First Aid at Work (1 day)
Work Environment
This is an on‑the‑ground leadership role, requiring extensive travel inside and outside of the UK. You’ll work across a variety of environments—from major stadiums to open‑air event sites—in all weather conditions.
