We are seeking an experienced Track Design Engineer to support the delivery of railway infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality track designs from concept through detailed design stages, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver track design packages at both Form A (Approval in Principle) and Form B (Detailed Design) stages.
- Produce all associated design deliverables including:
- Track alignment designs
- Design reports
- Technical calculations
- Drawings and CAD outputs
- Design assurance documentation
- Construction and installation support documentation
- Develop compliant track layouts, alignments, and geometry in accordance with Network Rail standards and client requirements.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Civil, Signalling, Electrification, and Geotechnical disciplines.
- Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and assurance processes.
- Support the resolution of technical queries throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure all designs are delivered safely, accurately, and to programme.
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrable experience delivering railway track design projects at both Form A and Form B stages.
- Proven ability to produce and manage all associated design documentation, reports, drawings, calculations, and technical deliverables.
- Strong understanding of Network Rail standards, design processes, and assurance requirements.
- Experience using BRT (Bentley Rail Track) and/or PRT track design software.
- Ability to work independently whilst managing multiple project priorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
