Job Role
The Installation Engineer will be assigned to the project and will be responsible for undertaking project engineering duties to assist with the delivery of the work package.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete the specific tasks identified within the package engineering plan.
- Supervise Contractor’s engineering works and review Contractor’s procedures for T&I.
- Supervise Contractor’s works, which may include duties of package engineering representatives at Contractor’s premises or onboard installation vessels.
- Review and approve the as-installed records.
In addition to core responsibilities, the Installation Engineer may be delegated additional responsibilities related to health and safety management, budgeting, planning, procurement, development of departmental procedures, and reporting.
Main Accountabilities
Project Management
- Assist the Installation Manager in developing and implementing a package engineering plan and managing internal and external resources required for the tasks.
- Coordinate information sharing and document review between the package management team, Contractor, Related Works Contractors, Marine Warranty Surveyor, Independent Verification Society, and Site Management teams.
- Complete or organize administrative tasks related to planning and executing installation works.
Procurement
- Prepare technical documentation for inclusion in ITT and EPCI documentation packages.
- Assess bids technically, including T&I solutions, consent compliance, work programmes, weather analysis, vessel assurance, and risk assessment.
Consents
- Provide technical assistance for project consent conditions.
- Complete engineering tasks for the Conceptual Design for T&I.
- Review Contractor\’s installation engineering deliverables.
- Coordinate interface tasks per the Interface Management Plan.
- Manage the CVA approval process for Transportation and Installation.
Execution of the Works
- Review and manage changes to Contractor procedures and studies.
- Support the Installation Manager in Marine Warranty Surveyor approval processes.
- Supervise Contractor works, including representation at Contractor’s premises or onboard vessels.
- Review and approve as-installed records.
- Support quality management to ensure NCRs related to transportation and installation are satisfactorily closed out.
Knowledge transfer
- Extract lessons learned and share across projects.
- Develop corporate procedures.
