Senior Forensic Planner / Project Scheduler

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Forensic Planner / Project Scheduler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting detailed forensic investigations of project schedules, identifying critical path delays, disruption events, and out-of-sequence work. You will collaborate with legal, commercial, and package teams to support claims preparation and defence, providing expert input and testimony where necessary. The position will require maintaining an auditable trail of schedule changes and assumptions used in forensic analysis. You will also provide senior planning support, including oversight of internal and external schedule management and controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct forensic investigations to identify critical path delays, disruption events, and out-of-sequence work on project schedules.
  • Perform root cause analysis on deviations from planned schedules, evaluating contractual and operational impacts.
  • Assess the impact of delays on key milestones, completion dates, cost exposure, and critical paths.
  • Lead the preparation and validation of Extension of Time (EoT) claims in accordance with contractual mechanisms.
  • Coordinate with legal, commercial, and package teams to support claims preparation, defence, and participate in dispute resolution proceedings when needed.
  • Maintain an auditable trail of schedule changes, delay events, and assumptions used for forensic analysis.

General Senior Planning Support:

  • Review and challenge Contractors’ schedule submissions for technical accuracy and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Manage and improve the internal master schedule, ensuring integration of all package schedules into the overall program timeline.
  • Conduct scenario planning and what-if analyses to support risk-based decision-making for the project management team.
  • Support cost control teams by correlating schedule delays to financial impacts (e.g., productivity losses, standby costs).
  • Coordinate time management resources to ensure schedule alignment with governance policies and project expectations.
  • Develop tailored milestone schedules and provide internal and external stakeholders with schedule updates.
  • Ensure accurate reporting on schedule status, progress curves, and forecast deviations.
  • Facilitate alignment across teams, ensuring schedule interfaces between packages (e.g., onshore/offshore substations, WTG, commissioning).

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in forensic planning, project scheduling, or a similar field.
  • Strong background in delay analysis, project controls, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with Extension of Time (EoT) claims and dispute resolution.
  • Experience working with contractors and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to challenge schedule submissions for technical accuracy and compliance.
  • Proficient in scheduling software and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
