We are seeking an experienced Production Planner / Production Controller to manage daily production planning and control across multiple manufacturing areas, including New Parts, Repaired Parts, Assembly and Testing. The role will be responsible for coordinating production schedules, materials, inventory, capacity and subcontractor activity to ensure seamless production flow and consistently high on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily production planning and output across multiple operational areas and production cells.
- Develop and maintain accurate production schedules using SAP/ERP and APS systems.
- Coordinate material requirements, repair routings, assembly sequences and testing processes.
- Monitor production performance against committed schedules and proactively resolve delivery risks.
- Optimise individual cell inventory and work-centre capacity to maximise resource utilisation.
- Manage subcontractor expediting, capacity and delivery performance.
- Maintain accurate production, inventory and supply-chain data across relevant digital systems.
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, Material Control, Purchasing, Shipping and Warehouse teams.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional meetings, communicating priorities and driving actions to completion.
- Identify and resolve complex issues relating to manning, machinery, materials and processes.
- Support continuous improvement of production planning processes and digital systems integration.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in production planning, production control, material planning or manufacturing operations.
- Strong experience with SAP/ERP production order systems and ideally APS planning tools.
- Advanced knowledge of material scheduling, expediting, production control and inventory management.
- Experience managing complex manufacturing processes, production routings and multi-stage operations.
- Experience managing subcontractors and external manufacturing resources.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple operational areas and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Production Planner, Production Controller, Material Planner or Manufacturing Planner who has worked within a complex manufacturing environment. They will be highly analytical, commercially aware and confident using SAP/ERP systems, with a proven ability to coordinate multiple production streams, optimise inventory and capacity, resolve operational issues and consistently deliver against demanding production schedules.
