An exciting opportunity has opened for experienced Electrical Engineers to join a growing High Voltage Power Systems team within a Global Consultancy. We are seeking professionals at Senior, Principal, and Associate level with expertise in HVDC and HVAC systems.
About the Role: You will work on a range of projects across transmission and distribution sectors, including feasibility studies, FEED, detailed design, techno-economic analysis, and advisory services. Projects span offshore wind, interconnectors, nuclear, utilities, data centres, and industrial power systems. As the energy landscape rapidly evolves, this role offers the chance to contribute to cutting-edge engineering solutions addressing decarbonisation, decentralisation, and grid innovation.
What We Are Looking For:
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems (PhD, MSc, MEng, or BEng)
- Chartered or working towards chartership (IET preferred)
- Proven experience delivering HVDC or power system consultancy projects
- Strong technical knowledge in HVDC technologies, converter stations, and system studies
- Understanding of UK/international grid codes and connection processes
- Confident in client-facing, project delivery and collaborative working
Desirable:
- Experience with software tools such as PowerFactory, PSS/E, PSCAD, ETAP, and Python
- Knowledge in protection coordination, insulation studies, thermal ratings, and cost-benefit analysis
