The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
As the Highways Design Engineer your duties & responsibilities will be:
- Produce design packages, reports and other deliverables to achieve project outcomes;
- Organise and undertake site visits and surveys;
- Deliver successful projects to agreed time and cost expectations whilst ensuring work is undertaken in compliance with internal quality standards and processes;
- Ensure work is undertaken in compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation;
- Resource planning and co-ordination of multi-disciplinary teams, including sub consultants;
- Staff and people management including training and development and staff performance reviews;
- Working collaboratively with customers to understand and develop project objectives and deliverables;
- Managing, building and developing customer relationships.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- Incorporated Engineer or highly experienced engineer working towards IEng / CEng;
- Design and construction experience in the highways sector;
- A commercial awareness in the delivery of projects;
- Awareness / experience of Local Highway Authority standards;
- Evidence of developing assistant engineers, graduates and technicians;
- Working knowledge of programming tools such as ASTA;
- Evidence of managing Health & Safety & Environment in design and construction;
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and other design software including for drainage, alignment and traffic signs desirable;
- Computer literate particularly with packages such as Microsoft Excel and Word;
- UK/EEC driving licence.
