Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor - Offshore Wind

Location: Hull or Hartlepool (Hybrid Site-Based)

Contract: Long-Term Freelance Assignment

Sector: Offshore Wind / Renewables

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a major offshore wind project, focusing on the Wind Turbine Package. This is a long-term contract opportunity for a commercially driven professional with strong claims, quantum, and cost management expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support upstream and downstream claims.
  • Develop and substantiate Extension of Time (EOT) and compensation event submissions.
  • Prepare detailed quantum assessments and cost analysis.
  • Track project events, commercial risks, and associated cost impacts.
  • Maintain accurate cost records, forecasts, and commercial reporting.
  • Work closely with project, construction, and commercial teams to support contractual and commercial objectives.
  • Ensure robust project records are maintained to support entitlement and claims positions.

Requirements

  • Proven Senior QS experience on major infrastructure, energy, renewables, or construction projects.
  • Strong background in claims management, EOTs, and quantum analysis.
  • Excellent commercial reporting and cost management skills.
  • Ability to build and present robust commercial cases backed by detailed evidence.
  • Experience within offshore wind, EPC/EPCI, marine, or large-scale infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of standard forms of contract, ideally including FIDIC.
