We are currently supporting a major engineering and infrastructure programme within a highly regulated environment and are seeking experienced Senior Commercial Managers to join an expanding commercial leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a strategic role on complex, high-value projects within a technically challenging sector, providing long-term contract opportunities and exposure to major infrastructure delivery programmes.
The Role
As a Senior Commercial Manager, you will lead the commercial strategy, governance, and performance of major engineering and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for overseeing commercial delivery, managing contractual risk, and ensuring robust financial control across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial strategy and governance across major infrastructure and engineering projects
- Provide leadership and direction to commercial and quantity surveying teams
- Manage contract administration, change control, claims, and commercial risk
- Oversee project cost reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial performance
- Drive commercial best practice, value optimisation, and cost efficiency initiatives
- Lead negotiations with clients, contractors, and supply chain partners
- Support project delivery teams in achieving commercial and contractual objectives
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and internal governance procedures
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the programme
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience operating as a Senior Commercial Manager within infrastructure, engineering, energy, defence, or major construction environments
- Strong background in commercial management, contract administration, and financial control
- Experience leading commercial teams on complex, multi-disciplinary projects
- Strong knowledge of NEC and other standard forms of contract
- Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, and negotiation skills
- Experience working within highly regulated or secure project environments
