We're supporting a leading organisation in the renewable energy sector in the search for an experienced Contract Manager to support the delivery of a major offshore wind programme. This is a fantastic opportunity for a contractor with experience managing technical contracts within offshore wind or large-scale capital engineering projects. You'll play a key role in coordinating technical contract documentation, supporting tender activities and working closely with engineering, procurement and commercial teams throughout the contract lifecycle.

The Role

As the Technical Contract Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the preparation, coordination and management of technical tender documentation and contract annexes, ensuring technical documentation is accurate, consistent and aligned throughout procurement, negotiation and contract execution. Working across multidisciplinary teams, you'll act as the technical contractual focal point, supporting suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure technical requirements are effectively translated into robust contractual documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and coordination of technical tender documentation and contract annexes for offshore wind projects.
  • Manage the technical contract documentation process from tender preparation through to contract award and execution.
  • Review and maintain technical documentation, ensuring consistency, completeness and accurate cross-referencing.
  • Support the negotiation and implementation of technical contract terms.
  • Act as the key technical contract interface between engineering, procurement, commercial and project delivery teams.
  • Coordinate technical input from multiple stakeholders to ensure project requirements are reflected within contract documentation.
  • Manage technical deviations, concessions and documentation updates throughout the procurement process.
  • Support supplier engagement during tender clarification and contract negotiation activities.
  • Drive document governance, quality and continuous improvement across technical contract packages.

About You

You'll have previous experience managing technical contracts within offshore wind or another complex engineering environment and be confident working across technical, commercial and contractual disciplines. You'll ideally have:

  • A degree in Engineering or another relevant technical discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Experience supporting offshore wind, offshore energy or other major infrastructure or capital engineering projects.
  • Proven experience preparing, reviewing and managing technical contracts and tender documentation.
  • Experience working alongside engineering, procurement and commercial teams within multidisciplinary project environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage complex documentation across multiple workstreams.
  • A structured and proactive approach with strong planning and prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English.

Technical Experience

Experience in one or more of the following would be highly desirable:

  • Offshore wind turbines
  • Offshore foundations
  • Offshore installation and marine logistics
  • Export and array cable systems
  • High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems
  • Electrical Balance of Plant (eBOP)
  • Offshore operations and maintenance
  • Engineering standards and technical compliance

An understanding of how different contracting strategies influence technical contract management would also be advantageous.
