We're currently supporting a well-established engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Civil Technician to join their growing civil infrastructure team.
This is a senior technical role with real responsibility, offering the chance to lead civil design delivery across a range of complex projects while mentoring junior staff and working closely with engineers and project managers.
The Role
As a Senior Civil Technician, you'll take a lead role in the production and coordination of detailed civil engineering designs, primarily using Autodesk Civil 3D. Projects typically include site development, roads, drainage, stormwater management, and water & sewer utilities, including pressurised systems for mission-critical facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and produce high-quality civil designs and drawings in Civil 3D
- Develop 3D models, grading designs, and earthworks calculations
- Coordinate closely with engineers to deliver plans, profiles, and sections
- Carry out design QA/QC and ensure compliance with standards and regulations
- Manage drawing packages, revisions, and project documentation
- Review volume calculations for excavation and site grading
- Mentor and support junior technicians
- Contribute to project delivery within agreed scope, budget, and programme
About You
- Degree / HND / foundation degree in drafting or a related discipline
- 7+ years' experience in civil engineering design
- Advanced Civil 3D experience (Navisworks, MS Office essential; Revit, MicroStation or GIS beneficial)
- Strong understanding of civil design principles, calculations, and standards
- Confident working in a multi-disciplinary project environment
