We are recruiting for an experienced Freelance Contract Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of major infrastructure and capital projects valued between £20m–£500m. This role will suit a commercially focused professional with strong NEC/FIDIC contract knowledge and a proven track record managing complex construction or infrastructure schemes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial and contractual management across major projects
- Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and compensation events
- Manage project costs, forecasting, reporting, and change control
- Support dispute resolution and stakeholder management
- Ensure strong commercial governance and contract administration
- Provide leadership and support to commercial project teams
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar
- Strong experience within infrastructure, utilities, energy, rail, or major construction projects
- Solid understanding of NEC and/or FIDIC contracts
- Background in cost management, procurement, estimating, and commercial reporting
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- MRICS/MCICES or working towards chartership preferred
