The Junior Revit Technician will support the engineering team in delivering high-quality building services engineering solutions across a range of projects and sectors. Working as part of the engineering team, the role will assist with the production of coordinated BIM models and technical outputs that support engineering design from concept through to construction. This position is designed for someone who has received some training in Revit, BIM or technical design and is looking to develop their skills further within a collaborative engineering consultancy environment. They will work closely with our BIM lead and Senior Technician to aid development and therefore we will consider Junior Revit Technicians with less software experience.
Your Role
- BIM Modelling and Technical Production
- Support the creation and development of 3D models of building services systems using Revit.
- Assist in producing coordinated technical outputs including:
- Layout plans
- Sections
- Elevations
- Details
- Schematics
- Ensure models and drawings are accurate and aligned with project requirements and BIM standards.
- Assist with maintaining and updating models throughout the design process.
- Project Support
- Work alongside engineers and designers to support project delivery across multiple projects.
- Assist in coordinating models and drawings with architectural and structural design teams.
- Attend design team and BIM coordination meetings where required.
- Help ensure technical information is delivered accurately and on time.
- Assist with basic clash detection and coordination tasks.
- Visualisation and Communication
- Support the production of visual outputs such as renders and model views for reports and presentations.
- Assist in preparing model outputs to communicate design concepts to project teams and clients.
- BIM Processes and Standards
- Support the implementation of BIM processes across projects.
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of BIM models in line with project BIM Execution Plans.
- Contribute to maintaining company modelling standards and documentation.
- Develop an understanding of different BIM Level workflows including coordinated model management.
- Learning and Professional Development
- Continue developing skills in Revit, BIM and digital engineering tools.
- Learn from experienced engineers and designers through project work and mentoring.
- Stay up to date with industry developments and digital design tools used within the built environment.
Requirements and Ideal Skills
- A qualification in engineering, building services, architectural technology, construction, or a related discipline.
- Some training or early experience using:
- Revit
- AutoCAD
- Building Information Modelling (BIM)
- Programming such as Dynamo Scripts
- Understanding of technical drawings and basic design coordination.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to develop technical skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage workload and contribute to project teams.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
