Due to continued growth and strategic expansion, a well-established nationwide Mechanical Services contractor is launching a new Air Conditioning division and is now seeking an experienced Air Conditioning Working Supervisor to help build and shape it. This is a newly created role and offers a rare opportunity for a technically strong, projects-focused AC professional to take ownership on-site, lead from the front, and play a key role in developing a growing division alongside an ambitious and experienced HVAC Leader.
Key responsibilities include:
- Remain hands-on across commercial AC projects (VRV/VRF, splits, multi-splits and associated pipework), setting the technical standard on-site and ensuring installs are delivered right first time.
- Direct and coordinate teams, allocate work efficiently, monitor productivity, and ensure workmanship meets company and client expectations.
- Mentor junior engineers and uphold performance standards.
- Take ownership of programme milestones, manage daily progress against schedule, identify risks early, and proactively resolve issues to keep projects on track and within scope.
- Ensure all installations meet industry regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company QA procedures.
- Conduct site checks and sign-offs to maintain consistent delivery standards.
- Contribute to improving site processes, identifying efficiencies, and helping build the operational framework of a developing Air Conditioning division.
Essential requirements:
- Proven experience as an Air Conditioning Engineer with installation/project bias on commercial projects.
- Experience supervising engineers or leading small installation teams on-site.
- Strong technical knowledge of VRV/VRF systems, splits, multi-splits and associated pipework installations.
- Valid F-Gas 2079.
- Demonstrable experience working on live commercial sites.
- Solid understanding of health & safety legislation, RAMS, and site compliance standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage labour and materials effectively.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Professional communication skills when dealing with clients, main contractors and internal management.
