In this role, you will act as the vital link between their clients' operational requirements and their labour resource pool. You will lead a dedicated team to ensure full shift coverage, maintain safety compliance, and drive profitability. Core Responsibilities
- Workforce Planning: Forecast labour requirements alongside project managers to create optimal staff schedules.
- Resource Optimisation: Deploy skilled workers and tradespeople to the right sites at the right time.
- Client Account Management: Build strong partnerships with site supervisors, project managers, and clients.
- Compliance Oversight: Enforce mandatory safety certifications, personal protective equipment (PPE) standards, and legal right‑to‑work guidelines.
- Commercial Performance: Control workforce budgets, approve timesheets, manage invoicing, and hit profitability targets.
- Team Leadership: Direct and mentor back‑office operations teams and field‑based labour coordinators.
- Supplier Coordination: Partner with external agencies to plug temporary or highly specialised labour gaps.
- Issue Resolution: Address on‑site attendance problems, worker performance issues, and contract variations swiftly.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Industry Experience: Minimum 3‑5 years managing labour supply or recruitment within a fast‑paced, safety‑critical sector (e.g., Construction, Rail, Civils, or Logistics).
- Commercial Awareness: Proven experience managing profit and loss (P&L), pricing, and labour margins.
- Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of specific industry competencies, training tickets, and health & safety regulations.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience using workforce management, rostering, and applicant tracking software (ATS).
- Communication Skills: Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
- Flexibility: Ability to operate effectively outside standard business hours to handle urgent site emergencies or shift shortfalls.
