Excellent rates of pay up to £22.00 per hour depending on experience – fantastic company to work for. As their Class 2 HGV Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods/materials to various sites throughout London and surrounding counties. This is a role requiring excellent navigational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle Operation: Safely drive and operate a vehicle (over 7.5 tonnes) in compliance with all UK traffic laws and safety standards.
- Route Planning: Plan and follow efficient routes across London and the Home Counties, adapting to traffic reports and diversions as necessary.
- Safety & Maintenance: Conduct daily pre‑journey vehicle walk‑around checks, reporting any defects to the Transport Office immediately.
- Load Security: Assist with or supervise the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring all items are correctly distributed and securely fastened.
- Compliance: Maintain accurate records of driving hours, mileage, and vehicle logs in strict accordance with EU and Working Time Directive regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Licence: A valid UK Category C (Class 2) driving licence.
- CPC & Digi Card: Current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and a Digital Tachograph card.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience is typically preferred.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with London’s Low Emission Zone (LEZ) and Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) regulations, as well as the Home Counties road network.
