ERS Education is recruiting experienced SEN Tutors for supply, long-term, and permanent positions across London. We work with local authorities and specialist provisions to place tutors for pupils educated other than at school (EOTAS) as well as 1:1 tuition roles within special schools and SEN units. This is a rewarding and flexible role that makes a direct difference to some of London’s most vulnerable young people. Our tutors work with pupils who are unable to attend school due to complex SEND, medical needs, SEMH difficulties, or following exclusion, providing consistent, high-quality education that many of these children would otherwise miss.

What you will be doing:

  • Delivering structured 1:1 or small group tuition to pupils with SEN in a home, community, hospital, or school-based setting
  • Planning lessons that are tailored to the individual pupil’s EHCP, learning profile, and needs
  • Tracking and recording pupil progress and reporting to the commissioning LA or school
  • Building a safe, trusting relationship with pupils who may have had negative school experiences
  • Liaising with the local authority SEND team, parents, and other professionals as required
  • Maintaining confidentiality and following all safeguarding procedures

What we are looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant with tutoring experience
  • Experience working with pupils with complex SEND including ASD, SEMH, PMLD, medical needs, or trauma
  • Ability to plan and deliver individualised lessons without direct supervision
  • Understanding of EHCPs and how to work within EHCP targets
  • Patient, resilient, and genuinely committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable pupils
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable but not essential in London)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

What ERS Education offers:

  • Competitive hourly rates: £35–£55 per hour for supply and EOTAS work (dependent on qualifications and experience)
  • Permanent salaries: £35,000–£55,000+ per year for full-time tutor roles
  • Flexible working – tell us your availability and preferred location and we will match you accordingly
  • Ongoing EOTAS placements with London local authorities – consistent, reliable work
  • A specialist consultant who understands SEN and will take time to match you to the right pupils
  • Support with DBS, onboarding, and compliance

We work exclusively in Special Educational Needs, placing SEN tutors, teachers, TAs, and support staff into special schools, SEMH provisions, and EOTAS placements across the capital.
