Do you have a passion and talent for supporting children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health disorders? Are you interested in supporting children who have challenging behaviour? Do you have experience working as a Secondary Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor with young people who cannot attend mainstream school and have a background of behavioural challenges? Are you keen to make a difference to the lives of children and young people whilst building your experience and furthering your career in SEND/SEMH? Even if your experience is informal/voluntary, I want to hear from you!
The children you will support will have various needs, including significant complex behaviour challenges and sometimes associated SEND. The SEMH School are looking for SEMH Teaching Assistants to work with students AGED 14-18.
Experience of working with young people with SEND and/or Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties or experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication.
- Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor / Youth Worker experience
- Ability to build a strong and meaningful relationship
- A passion for working with SEND is essential
