About the Role
The Designer will support the Design Manager by developing detailed design drawings, specifications, and documentation across assigned projects. This role involves close collaboration with the design and project teams to ensure the design aligns with project requirements, aesthetic vision, and regulatory standards.
Main Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Drawing & Design Production
- Produce drawings in line with priorities set by the Design Lead or Head of Design
- Ensure all drawings follow company standards, templates, and specifications
- Include correct technical details (e.g. fixings, materials, manufacturer requirements)
- Complete material take-offs and quantity schedules
- Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate closely with Head of Design and wider design team
- Liaise with external teams (e.g. Sonrai, suppliers, manufacturers) when required
- Attend internal and project meetings as required
- Participate in coordination meetings with design teams
- Documentation & Information Management
- Ensure use of latest project information via Common Data Environments (e.g. 4Projects, Aconex, Asite)
- Review project meeting minutes and track actions
- Prepare and assist with technical submittals
- Site Support
- Provide site teams with setting out information and detailed drawings
- Issue fabrication details and material schedules for site delivery
- Compile site packs using company templates
- Respond quickly to site queries and information requests
- Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company standards and project requirements
- Technical & Supplier Coordination
- Contact manufacturers/suppliers as required
- Assist in preparing draft technical submittals for approval
- Develop and detail key interface areas
- Ensure coordination between different systems and trades
