We’re recruiting for an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead a team of 15 at a flagship site near Colchester. This is a varied management role overseeing the maintenance of the site’s facilities, accommodation and grounds, ensuring everything is safe, well maintained and operating to a high standard.
The Role
- Lead, manage and support a team of 15 maintenance staff
- Oversee both planned and reactive maintenance across the site
- Manage maintenance schedules, contractors and external suppliers
- Monitor maintenance budgets and ensure resources are used effectively
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety requirements
- Maintain high standards across facilities, accommodation and grounds
- Take a hands-on approach when required and support the wider maintenance team
About You
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or similar
- Experience leading and managing a maintenance team
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Good all-round knowledge of building/facilities maintenance
- Understanding of health & safety and compliance
- Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to get involved when needed
- Able to manage competing priorities in a busy site environment
Working Hours
March – October: 45 hours per week over 5.5 days
November – February: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Standard hours: 8:00am – 6:00pm, with a 1-hour lunch break
