Looking to move away from the tools and into a specialist technical role? We are recruiting for a Building Services Surveyor (M&E) to join a growing Facilities Management provider supporting the mobilisation of prestigious commercial building contracts across London and the M25. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically or electrically qualified engineer with a background in commercial building services maintenance, technical services, or facilities management who is looking to utilise their technical knowledge in a surveying and mobilisation-focused position.

Working across a diverse portfolio of commercial properties, you will play a key role in ensuring new contracts are accurately surveyed, documented, and prepared for successful service delivery. This role would suit an engineer with strong knowledge of building services plant, asset verification, compliance requirements, and technical reporting.

  • £47,000 basic salary
  • All business travel expenses covered

The Role

  • Carry out detailed asset verification and condition surveys across newly awarded commercial contracts
  • Produce and maintain comprehensive asset registers for M&E plant and equipment
  • Identify and document building services defects, compliance issues, and maintenance requirements
  • Gather, review, and organise technical documentation including O&M manuals, logbooks, and statutory compliance records
  • Assist with the mobilisation and onboarding of new client sites
  • Support the creation of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and asset strategies
  • Liaise with clients, site teams, engineers, and operational managers throughout the mobilisation process
  • Ensure all survey information is accurately recorded and uploaded to CAFM and internal management systems
  • Provide technical reports and recommendations to support successful contract delivery

Requirements

  • Previous experience within commercial building services, facilities management, technical services, or M&E maintenance
  • Mechanical or electrical engineering background
  • Experience carrying out asset surveys, condition surveys, technical audits, or maintenance inspections
  • Good understanding of commercial building services plant and equipment
  • Ability to identify maintenance, compliance, and lifecycle issues
  • Experience producing technical reports and asset registers
  • Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems
  • Full UK driving licence preferred

Location

Projects are located throughout London and the M25, including Central London, the City, West End, Hammersmith, Chelsea, Canary Wharf, and surrounding areas.
